The MASH room

The recording studio is back!

After months of building work, renovations and creation happening in College over the holidays, it's finally time to reveal one of Trevs most renowned facilities...the new and improved (and newly located!) MASH room!

The space gives musicians the opportunity to practise, alone or together, creating some fantastic musical spectacles. What would a 'musical College' be without a specific musical practise space?!

The MASH Room is named in remembrance of Mark Ashton (Mash) a former graduate of the College and Vice-President of the JCR. Amongst his many outstanding contributions to Trevelyan College, he was a dedicated member of the Tech Team and PA Manager.

Mash also received Half Colours from the JCR to recognise his hard work for the student body and the College.

Mash sadly passed away in 2008 and the MASH music room continues to be a lasting dedication to his memory.

The suite was situated previously between the Dowrick Suite and the Sir James Knott Hall, but due to renovation work, its new home sits proudly on Elvet Hill Road in 'The Barn'.

The room is equipped with equiptment for all students to use, and is wired in so all they need to do is plug in and play!

The space has been used by many students already, with Unplugged rehearsals, as well as individual rehearsals taking place on a daily basis.

How lucky we are to have such a room for opportunity within Trevs!
