Trevelyan was lucky enough to welcome a
new event organised by students entitled ‘Lunar New Year Night Market’,
celebrating Chinese New Year.
This was a fantastic evening spread throughout College, from the dining hall, to the Undercroft, and even some cooking in the pantry's!
Students were able to sample a number of dishes from China, and there was even a tea ceremony, with an array of teas to try.
Students from across Durham joined the celebrations at Trevelyan, creating a fantastic buzz around the College.
As well as this, performances took place in the dining hall from a number of talented students.
And we couldn't forget to mention two of our extremely talented fresher twins, who represented Wales at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth games in table tennis!
All this wouldn't be complete without the opportunity to try on some traditional Chinese and Japanese clothing!
Principal, Prof. Evans certainly seemed to enjoy it!
Another fantastic event created by the talented students of Trevelyan, showing just how lucky we are to live in such a fantastic, multi-cultural environment!
